We have full access to the Presidency – Dr. Kwabena Adjei

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei says the executive members of the party have full access to the Presidency.

The New Statesman in its Tuesday, April 1, 2014 publication, alleged that the Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Bani, had prevented Dr. Kwabena Adjei from seeing President Mahama.

According to the newspaper, the restraint of Dr. Kwabena Adjei from seeing the President almost resulted in a scuffle, adding that the timely intervention of some staffers at the Presidency averted the situation.

Dr. Kwabena Adjei described the publication as false saying it is an attempt by some “corrupt” minds to create confusion in the ruling NDC.

“Some people are on the path of national self-destruction…there is no iota of truth. I cannot go fighting anybody at the Flagstaff House. People want to knock our heads together. What will they get? This message is coming from a very corrupted mind,” he bewailed.

On his relationship with the President and the Chief of Staff, Dr. Kwabena Adjei disclosed that he has been with the President throughout his tour of the country to inspect ongoing developmental projects, hence there is no doubt that they are at peace.

“Why should I be quarreling with the Chief of Staff? He is a gentleman. He is a friend. We work together and we advise ourselves. What might have occasioned me to run into tantrum with my Chief of Staff in the Presidency?” He quizzed.

He said the National Executives of the NDC have up-to-date information on what happens at the Presidency, noting that he is present at almost all cabinet meetings with the President and the Chief of Staff.

Meanwhile, the NDC National Chairman warns of a possible legal battle against The New Statesman newspaper for publishing what he describes as falsehood and an indictment on his personality.

He is entreating the public to treat the aforementioned publication with the utmost disdain that it deserves.

In a related development, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Bani, has also rubbished the publication indicating that he has a cordial relationship with Dr. Kwabena Adjei.
