We have confidence in AG to ensure justice – J.B. Danquah’s family

The family of the murdered Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, J.B Danquah Adu says it trusts the Attorney General to ensure justice in the slaying of the deceased Legislator, despite the filing of Nolle prosequi in the ongoing case.

The two men, Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bosso who are standing trial in connection to the murder were Tuesday morning discharged by the Accra High Court following the filing of a Nolle prosequi by the Attorney General.

But they were re-arrested by the police for investigations to continue.

When the two men last appeared at the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court two weeks ago, the case was adjourned for the empaneling of a jury for the trial.

A jury was expected to be constituted a week earlier, but the prosecution pleaded with the court for an adjournment to enable it to deal with certain issues. The prosecutor told the court at its last sitting that there was a new development in the prosecution’s case which needed to be addressed.

The Head of the late J.B Danquah Adu’s family, Bretuohene Baffuor Odiatua Acheampong II, who had earlier served notice the family may seek the expertise of Scotland Yard, the Metropolitan Police Service in Britain to investigate the death of the former Legislator as they pursue justice, has in an interview with Kasapa News stated that the family has full confidence in the state to do a good job.”We want finality to this case, justice is all we’re seeking for.

If the AG has found other evidence that will ensure justice is delivered we’re all for it. We want our son to rest peacefully, let’s all allow the AG to do what is needful. We know at the end of the day justice will certainly be done.”
