Gospel music duo turned pastors, Willie and Mike, have opened up about a deeply personal and humbling chapter in their early ministry — one that began with a dramatic deportation from Belgium.
In a candid video shared on their social media platforms, the popular pair reflected on their first international travel experience — a much-anticipated journey that was meant to take them to Paris, France. The trip had generated excitement both for them and their supporters in Ghana.
However, things didn’t go as planned. The duo recounted that their flight encountered severe turbulence, which led to an emergency landing in Brussels. What was already a terrifying experience soon turned into something more devastating.
“It was our first time traveling abroad, and everyone knew about it back home. The embarrassment, the confusion, it was devastating,” they recalled, explaining how they were deported right at the Brussels airport and never made it to their original destination.
While the experience left them shaken and humiliated, they now view it as a defining moment in their spiritual journey. “Starting wasn’t easy,” they shared. “We faced rejection, humiliation, and countless roadblocks. But through it all, God’s faithfulness never failed us.”
The painful episode eventually marked the turning point in their lives, setting them on a path from music ministry to full-time pastoral work — a transformation they say was guided by divine purpose.
Today, Willie and Mike’s story is one of resilience, purpose, and unshakable faith. Encouraging others who may be facing challenges of their own, the duo said: “God can use your lowest point as the beginning of your divine purpose. We are living proof.”
Their journey — from deportees to preachers — continues to inspire countless believers across the globe.
