Accra, May 12, GNA – The Amen, Amen Institute and Church on Friday denied practising occultism and threw a challenge to members of the public, who claimed to have evidence of such occultism to report to the security agencies for investigation.
A statement signed by the Counsel of the Institute, Mr Yaw Opoku-Adjaye said its attention had been drawn to rumours circulating among sections of the public that the Institute was indulging in occultism.
“The Institute wishes to denounce this accusation as a wicked and malicious attempt by a dissatisfied few, whose sole motive is to destroy the spiritual, social and welfare contributions being rendered by the Institute …,” the statement said.
It said as an Institute set up to train mankind to understand God, the Creator Himself and to encourage people to live together in peace as well as be good, useful and law abiding citizens, it did not associate itself with any person who practised occultism or engaged in any secret cult or society.
The statement warned members of the public to desist from such acts of defamation as the Institute would take steps to bring legal actions against any person or group of persons perpetrating the falsehood. “The Amen, Amen Institute was established among other aims to help mankind to understand God, the Creator and to live in peace with one another – each being his brother’s keeper and through the truth about the Creator; many people will live honest and just lives.” The statement said the Institute did not countenance or provide support for any member or any organized group or groups engaged in any illegal activities or any offence against the State either within or outside the country.
