The Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice has welcomed the decision by a former government advisor Giselle Yajzi, to assist in investigations into the Hotel Kufuor issue.
But the Acting Commissioner Anna Bossman says there?s no need for Madam Yajzi to personally appear before the commission.
The US based Giselle Yajzi announced her willingness to co-operate with CHRAJ on Radio Gold two days ago despite her earlier attack on the commission?s integrity.
Among other things, she requested a British Airways return ticket, security guards and hotel accommodation at the La Palm Royal from CHRAJ to appear before the Commission.
But CHRAJ Commissioner Anna Bossman told JOY News her presence is not needed for the ongoing preliminary investigations.
?In the first place we are not at the hearing stage. We are in the preliminary stage where we are getting information from various people and we are glad that she says will cooperate with us. What this means is that she is willing to give us documents and information that we require to assist us in this case and that is where we will take it from,? she said.
Miss Bossman told JOY News that the Commission is willing to work with Madam Yajzi to secure the information she claims to have on the purchase of the hotel for investigators to conclude their work.
?We must get on with it, the country can?t be polarized. If anything, the sooner we get to the bottom of the matter the better. We are making contacts and I?m expecting that I will get an interim report pretty soon. I?m quite sure that we are not going to linger too much with this preliminary case. What we are doing now is ascertain what our case is or how far our case has been,? she said.
Officials of CHRAJ say investigations will soon be rounded up but Miss Bossman will not say exactly when.
