Electoral Commission officials have also told XYZ News in an exclusive interview that training of personnel for next week’s polls is currently on-going..

The training, according to the commission, is to ensure that all officials who will be monitoring the polls conduct themselves professionally.

The EC also confirmed that ballot papers, boxes and other electoral materials have also been successfully dispatched to the regions.

Principal Public Relations Officer at the EC, Sylvia Annor in an interview with XYZ News said the EC is adequately prepared for the 2012 elections.

Meanwhile, the EC has clarified reports that a different set of accreditation is needed by Journalists who wish to be at the collation centres to monitor the counting of the ballots.

“I don’t know of any segregation of accreditation where somebody is allowed to go to the collation centre and others are not allowed to go to the collation centre.

“What I do know is that there is media accreditation for the media to cover the elections”.
