We are not biased – GBC tells Danquah Institute

Management of the Nation’s Broadcaster, GBC will meet all the political parties over the coverage of their political activities ahead of the December polls and address any alleged unfairness.

GBC has parried off accusations of bias hurled at it by policy think tank Danquah Institute.

DI claims the state broadcaster is being grossly biased against opposition political parties relative to the amount of time and extent of coverage accorded the ruling NDC.

However, Director of TV at GBC Mike Amon Kwarfo in an interview with XYZ News said the station has come out with strategies to allot equal time to all political parties ahead of the elections.

“We have taken measures to move into the election year with equitable provision for all competing parties and very soon we are going to roll them out.

“So if there is any seeming evidence that is what we are doing, I prefer to state that we are not doing that deliberately”.

But a Director at the Danquah Institute, Sophia Korkor in an interview with XYZ News stated that the state broadcaster must immediately review its policies on election coverage.
