Water dealers at Gomoa Ojobi warn against illegal connection

Gomoa Ojobi (C/R) March 16 GNA-The District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya, Captain Steve Kwamena Armah (RTD) on Wednesday warned private water dealers at Gomoa Ojobi to dismantle all illegal connections they have made to the main pipeline to Senya Beraku and its surroundings to ensure free flow of water to the people.

According to him a task force made up of the Police and officials of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) is being constituted to inspect the pipeline and anybody found engaged in the act would be arrested and prosecuted.

The District Chief Executive gave the warning in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Gomoa Ojobi.

In a related development the Chairman of the Senya Beraku Urban Council, Mr Anderson Kwame Onassis has appealed to the GWCL to solve the water crisis that has hit the town since the past three months. Mr John Mensah, Winneba District Manager of the Company had assured the community that all efforts were been made to resolve the problem.
