Watchdog committee set up to search for fetish priest

The chief and people of Amenhyia near Suhum have organized a neighborhood watchdog committee to search and arrest a fetish priest, Adjorlolo, and his accomplice for hitting and killing four people on the spot with his car at Akote near Suhum.

The dead include two brothers. The Chief of Amanhyia, Baffour Kwasi Akotia II, told newsmen that Adjorlolo and his driver deserted the town after the incident. He said the community had received information that he had been coming to his house under cover of darkness and left at dawn.

Baffour Akoti said since Adjorlolo came to reside in the town, the elders had received reports about his alleged involvement in internet fraud “sakawa” and he invited him and his landlord to his palace.

He said he confronted them with the issue but they denied the allegation. The chief said Adjorlolo came to reside at Amenhyia about a year ago as a herbalist but latter got to know that he used to reside at Somanya but was expelled by the community for indulging in kidnapping of school children and having amorous relations with people’s wives.

Baffour Akotia denied condoning and conniving with the fetish priest to run away as being alleged by the people of Akote.
