Watch Dog Committees cautioned to stop behaving as police

The Agona Swedru Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Donyina, has warned members of Watch Dog Committees in the area not to behave as police personnel.

The Police Commander in a New Message to Ghanaians through the GNA said the members have not been trained to discharge duties of police officers.

ACP Donyina expressed worry that reports reaching him indicated that some members of the Agona Swedru Watch Dog Committee were posing as police personnel.

He reminded members of the Committees that were expected among others to assist police to clamp down on criminals and other offenders.

ACP Donyina advised the members to work hard and that those who qualify could be considered for enlisted into the Ghana Police Service in future.

He advised them to continue to assist the police in the Agona West Municipality to ensure peace and stability.
