Waste management is a problem in Techiman

Techiman (B/A), Jan 12, GNA – Mr Isaac Osei-Antwi, the Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, has spoken out against heaps of refuse in the municipality and said gutters have been chocked.

He said the major problem confronting the municipality was huge sums of money spent on management of solid waste.

Mr Osei-Antwi, who was speaking to the GNA, said the assembly would this year buy one excavator and a skip loader to add to the only one skip loader that picks 20 containers scatted at refuse transfer stations in the Municipality.

He attributed the problems to the break down of the two trucks, which the assembly had always found difficult to repair due to non-availability of spare parts.
