Wassa: Over 100 students suffer diarrhoea after drinking tap water

Over one hundred students of the Daaboase Senior High School in the Wassa East District of the Western region are experiencing severe diarrhoea after drinking from a tap.

They have been rushed to the Ahmadiyya hospital for emergency treatment.

The mass diarrhoea attack started on Wednesday after the students drunk from the tap.

Seth Boston Kudjoe, an eyewitness and a Good Samaritan who helped convey some of the students to the hospital told XYZ News the situation was very severe.

The locals suspect the water may have been contaminated by chemicals used for illegal mining in the area.

A lot of water sources in the Western and Ashanti regions have been badly polluted as a result of the activities of illegal miners in those areas.
