Wassa-Fiase plans programme to boost education

Tarkwa (W/R), Oct. 24, GNA- The Wassa-Fiase Traditional Council has decided to organise a national congress of its citizens both home and abroad to discuss developmental programmes in the area. Osagyefo Kwamena Enimil the VI, Omanhene of the area said one of the priorities of the congress would be the institution of an Education Endowment Fund, adding, ” Education is a major prerequisite to sustained development”.

He told a traditional council meeting at Tarkwa on Thursday that, a delegation has been appointed to contact the Executive Secretary to the Asanteman Education Fund for guidance.

He said the congress would publicise the investment potential of the area to attract investors.

Osagyefo Enimil announced the appointment of a committee to work for the formation of a land secretariat to settle land disputes and raise revenue from the allocation of plots in the area for development. Nine committees of the council were reconstituted to pave the way for transparency and proper utilisation of funds and harnessing of resources for developments.
