The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Nepad has noted with keen interest and concern, the lofty pace at which certain Travel and Tour Operators are releasing unconstructive information to the good people of Ghana.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry, it said Operators disseminated “erroneous information about what they termed as ‘teaching opportunities available in the People’s Republic of China'” to Ghanaians.
The release refuted the existence of the teaching opportunities and informed the public that their representatives in China knew nothing about the teaching opportunities. “Our Mission in Beijing has no official knowledge of any teaching recruitment exercise,” it stated.
“No person, Department or Agency of the Chinese Government has contacted the Mission regarding the existence of teaching opportunities in the People’s Republic of China,” the released added.
The Ministry has been informed that the offices of some of the perpetrators of the act are located around Apollo Theatre in Accra.
The ministry has however advised that, since most of the victims of the Travel and Tour Operators end up “stranded and are repatriated back to their country”, people should be on the lookout. “All persons who contact these Tour Operators do so at their own risk,” it added.
