Ward-Brew files suit to suspend December polls

The disqualified Presidential candidate of the Democratic People’s Party Thomas Ward-Brew has filed a suit at the Supreme Court praying the apex court to suspend the upcoming polls.

He said the court should put the election on hold in order to allow him correct the errors on his nominations forms that led to his disqualification from the presidential race by the electoral commission.

Mr. Brew in a writ to the court said he should be allowed him time to correct his mistakes and also campaign since he was not in the Ghanaian jurisdiction when his disqualification was announced.

The DPP candidate was among 11 other people who were earlier disqualified from the Presidential race over errors on their nomination forms. But three of them were later readmitted into race after the Supreme Court ordered the commission to allow them time to correct their errors.
