Accra, Jan. 19, GNA-The Greater Accra regional coordinating council on Saturday carried out a three-hour spraying exercise around the Ohene Djan Stadium as part of preparations for the Ghana 2008 cup tournament.
The exercise dubbed; “Operation War Against Mosquitoes” was funded by the Libyan government and Sonitra construction company. Mr Joe Lartey the co-ordinator of the exercise said Saturday’s exercise was the first round of spraying and expressed the hope that after the second round of spraying in three months time, mosquitoes would be permanently kept at bay.
He further appealed to corporate organizations to come to the aid of the exercise in both cash and kind for them to sustain the exercise since the insecticides that they were using were very expensive. 19 Jan. 08
