Wake up from your slumber – Sir John tells Mahama

Former General Secretary of the opposition National Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John has urged President John Dramani Mahama to wake up from his slumber and come to the aid of Ghanaians for they are suffering as a result of his bad policies.

“President Dramani Mahama keeps praising himself as being the best president of this land, yet he keeps campaigning to be voted for. He shouldn’t have campaigned anymore because he claims to have worked hard to deserve a second term in office, therefore, why worry since his works would determine his votes,” he told Lawyer Tweneboah Koduah, host of UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ show.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Tuesday’s edition of the programme on Education and this year’s elections, the NPP stalwart strongly vowed that teachers would not go through the constant demeaning acts they are experiencing under the current administration, should Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo become the next president.

“Teachers would leave their place of duty if they depend on this current government for help because they are heartless in paying employees, who have sacrificed themselves to teach future leaders of this nation. Indeed, NDC as a party always supports bad acts because it is a corrupt party that has nothing in common with proclaiming the truth,” Sir John said.

The former NPP Chief Scribe also had bones to pick with the Chairperson of the Electrical Commission, Charlotte Osei towards the electoral body’s posture in the forthcoming general polls.

To be frank, “It is only in Ghana that a party in power speaks on behalf of the EC, which is really a bad act to practice.”

“I am going to the office of the EC Boss Charlotte Osei just to advise her to keep her image by diligently performing her duties as required of her than being in bed with the NDC to disgrace herself.”
