Wailing Women Ghana condemns women in indecent commercials

Fafraha (GAR), Feb. 28, GNA – Mrs Kate Dapilma, National Coordinator of Wailing Women-Ghana, a religious body that fights the cause of women, has called on women to desist from allowing themselves to be used in indecent advertisements and commercials.

Such adverts and commercials in the media especially television, she noted, tended to demean their dignity. Making the call at the inauguration of the Adenta-Fafraha branch of the association at Fafraha in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, Mrs Dapilma expressed regret that advertisements and commercials in recent times had reduced women to a mere commodity. The inauguration brings to 40 the total number of the associations nationwide. Mrs Dapilma said when the dignity of women was threatened the whole society was under threat.

The National Coordinator advised members of the Adenta Fafraha branch to desist from involving themselves in issues that might brought the anger of God upon them.

She expressed the hope that the association would live up to expectation and champion the cause of women. Mrs Monica Tshribi, an African Coordinator of the association also urged members to take up the challenge and foster unity among members to ensure the growth of the association.

She also asked them to take active part the national one-week prayer and fasting declared by government towards the celebration of this year’s independence anniversary. 28 Feb. 10
