THE COMMITTEE for Joint Action (CJA) will, effective today, move into full gear towards the staging of the Wahala 4 protest march in Kumasi this Thursday.
A member of the local organizing committee, Mr. Doe Tamakloe, who is also the deputy Regional Secretary of the NDC, says everything is on course for the march to be staged in Kumasi.
“The heat is actually on and it would be so so wahala next Thursday,” he told The Chronicle in an interview.
He cautioned financiers of hired groups bent on staging counter demonstrations to desist from their intentions and learn from the act of democracy.
Tamakloe called also on the government to advise members and supporters of the ruling government to accept the fact that democracy is about different opinions on national issues, so they should not stand in the way of the CJA in exercising its constitutional right.
The NDC scribe observed that Ashanti is not an enclave by itself and did not see the reason why groups and hired agents would want to sabotage the proposed Wahala 4 march in Kumasi by organizing counter demonstrations.
According to Tamakloe, the route for the march is yet to be decided but hoped that there would be no problem with that.
If the CJA had its way, Tamakloe said, the march would start from the Post Office Square through the Prempeh II Street, Central Market, Roman Hill, Aboabo station, Akwatialine (Bombay) through Aboabo 1 and end up at the Aboabo Park.
On the other hand, if the police decide the route, then the march could start from the Post Office Square and end up at the Jackson Park.
