‘Wahala’ demonstrations are useless -Nana Domfeh

Akrokerri (Ash), May 3, GNA – A prominent citizen of Akrokerri in the Adansi North District of Ashanti, has called on Ghanaians to support the bold decisions the government is taking to push the nation forward. Nana Kwadwo Domfeh, who was speaking during an encounter with the press at Akrokerri said, “The entire nation should support the hard policies for the betterment of Ghana”.

He emphasised that President Kufuor would not intentionally create difficulties for the people, who voted for him.

Nana Domfeh, a staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist, said issues on petroleum products were global and that rendered the ‘Wahala’ demonstrations in the country useless.

“Wahala demonstration is completely useless since we do not produce crude oil here. We buy it and every country is under the pressure of the situation”, he said.

He said it was wrong for the government to subsidise crude oil for individuals to enjoy, since commercial vehicles in the country were fewer than private cars.

Nana Domfeh appealed to Ghanaians to accept the economic situation as it is now, since no government could reduce the price of petroleum products.

The NPP activist pointed out that the government was going to generate enough revenue to develop the country that was why those in opposition were making noise.

“If not because of the good policies of the government, can we as a nation embark on those on-going major road projects”, he questioned. Nana Domfeh, a retired Plant Superintendent of AngloGold Ashanti (Obuasi), maintained that it was as a result of the good policies of the government that the international community were supporting the country. He therefore, reiterated his call on Ghanaians to have patience and offer the needed support to the Kufuor administration.
