WAEC releases Business Certificate Examination results

Accra, Oct. 01, GNA – The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Monday announced that it had released provisional results of the May/June 2007 General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations. A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Senior Public Relations Officer, said the entire results of 22 candidates had been withheld pending conclusions of investigations into various irregularities committed.

It said 4,103 candidates sat for the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) while 1,368 candidates took the Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE).

The statement said the result lists for candidates from schools had been sent to the schools while individual statements of results for private candidates were being mailed to addresses provided by candidates. Candidates may also access their results online. The General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations, formerly RSA Stages II and II, are available to both private candidates in approved private institutions on either single subject or group entry basis.

The GBCE is equivalent to the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination while the ABCE can lead to the award of a Diploma.
