Wa East Assembly execute 2.4 billion cedis development projects

Bulenga (U/W), Aug 27, GNA – The Wa East District Assembly, one of three new districts in the Upper West region is undertaking a number of development projects in six communities at a total cost of 2.4 billion cedis. This is in line with the assembly’s responsibility to extend social amenities to all parts of the district, formerly known as the overseas because of its inaccessibility due to lack of roads and its remoteness from the rest of the region. This was announced by the Wa East District Chief Executive, Mr Adams Mahama Issahaku, at separate functions during which the contractors handling the job were introduced to the chiefs and people n the six districts.

The projects included a police station at Bulenga costing 382.3 million cedis, a community based health service compound for the Kpaglahi farming community at 313.7 million cedis and a block of three classrooms for the Baaleyiri farming community at a cost of 431.4 million cedis. The Chief Executive urged the chiefs and people not to hesitate in pointing any shortcomings on part of the contractors. They should also provide the contractor with the necessary assistance required to facilitate the timely completion of the project.
