W/R youth wing of the NDC congratulates Prez Mahama

The Western Regional Youth Wing of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday congratulated President John Dramani Mahama for emerging victorious in the just-ended elections.

In a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Takoradi and signed by the acting Regional Youth Organiser of the party, Darlington Daniel Atitso, the NDC youth wing said, the victory of President Mahama had rekindled the hope and aspirations of the youth in the country.

It congratulated the party’s polling agents, constituency, regional and national executives of the party for their vigilance, resilience, sacrifice and steadfastness during the December 7 elections which made the ‘One Touch’ victory of the party possible.

It appealed to the youth to have confidence and faith in the President and the government as it embarks on the journey towards advancing the Better Ghana Agenda.

It reminded the government to fast-track the expansion of the Takoradi Port project, the fertilizer factory at Nyanikrom in the Shama District, the construction of Tarkwa-Bogoso-Ayanfuri road, the gas infrastructure project at Atuabo in the Ellembelle District as well as creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in the Region so as to make the next elections in 2016 much more easier.

The statement said the youth wing of the party would work hard to capture the remaining eight seats from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 general elections in order to make the Region the stronghold of the party.

The NDC won the presidential contest as well as 18 parliamentary seats out of 26 seats in the Region.
