W/R has achieved almost 50 per cent census coverage

Sekondi, Oct. 12, GNA – The Western Region has achieved almost 50 per cent coverage in the Housing and Population Census, Mr Emmanuel Nana Opoku, the Regional Statistician said on Tuesday. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Sekondi, Mr Opoku said the region was able to achieve this, despite occasional shortages of enumeration forms.

Mr Opoku said it is expected that the region would achieve 100 per cent coverage during the mop up exercise. He said additional enumerators have been provided for areas in rural communities with large population. Mr Opoku said enumeration materials would be supplied regularly during the mop up exercise, to ensure that everybody is counted.
