W/R: Court places injunction on DA elections

A Sekondi High Court has placed an injunction on the district assembly elections at West Tanokrom in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis in the Western region.

The plaintiff Samuel Kwesi Anderson is the immediate past Assembly Member for the area who is seeking re-election for a fourth term.

The district, regional and the national EC offices have been served with the writ accordingly, according to Starr News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan.

Anderson was disqualified by the EC for allegedly falsifying his school certificate. He allegedly stated on the forms that he was an A level certificate holder instead of O level, but Anderson described it as a mere error.

He claims errors are bound to happen and that it was in the same vein that the EC erred in stating his (Anderson’s) occupation on the notice of polls.

He is through the injunction calling on the EC to justify his disqualification.
