VRCC expresses appreciation for successful funeral

The Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) on Monday expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people of the region for the various ways in which they showed their sympathy and grief in mourning the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

“The plethora of tributes, messages of condolence, processions in the municipalities and districts across the Region were clear manifestations of a Region truly mourning the death of a beloved and great leader,” a release signed by Mr. Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister said.

The VRCC also expressed appreciation to members of the local funeral planning committee, the clergy, media, security services and other individuals and institutions, which contributed in making the occasion a memorable one in the Region.

It said the Council believed that the late President’s fine qualities of modesty, kindness, unbounded generosity, peaceful nature and total commitment to the welfare and development of the Region would characterize the country’s body politic.**
