VRA to undertake routine maintenance from September 1

Accra, Aug. 31, GNA – The Volta River Authority (VRA) would undertake its annual maintenance and modification on the six generating units at the Akosombo Generating Station, from Wednesday, September 1 to December 31.

A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday by the Public Relations Unit of the VRA, said during the period, one generating unit would be taken out, consecutively, to ensure that hydro generation was not curtailed.

“The Authority assures consumers that there would be sufficient supply of electricity to meet demand during this period. We take this opportunity to thank consumers for their continued support for the Authority’s effort at improving the efficiency of our generation system,” it added.
