VRA envisages power outages from January 12-14

Accra, Jan. 12, GNA – The management of Volta River Authority (VRA) on Tuesday announced that there had been a delay in the supply of crude oil to its Tema thermal Plant therefore, the plant would not be available for operations a few days this week.

A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mrs Gertrude Koomson of the Public Relations Unit of VRA said ” as a result, there would be a 30MW power supply deficit between 6.00pm and 9.00 pm from January 12 to 14, 2010″.

It said VRA had therefore requested its partners, Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) and Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to help manage the deficit. “Information on the areas to be affected would be communicated through the media shortly. The inconvenience is very much regretted, “the statement said.
