Ho, Jan. 24, GNA – The Volta Regional Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday expressed its confidence in the ability of President John Agyekum Kufuor to make Ghana a haven of peace, stability and economic development, and prosperity in Africa. “Please count on our full co-operation during your second term in office,” the Council said in a congratulatory message to the President on his re-election for a second four-year term.
The message which was signed by the Council’s Chairman, Mr William Adzah, described as a “good choice”, the President’s nomination of Mr Kofi Dzamesi, former deputy Volta Regional Minister as the new substantive Regional Minister.
“We are confident that he will improve upon the performance of his predecessor, Mr Kwasi Owusu-Yeboah”, the message said.
The Council also sent a similar congratulatory message to Mr Dzamesi on his nomination and assured him of its prayers as he goes through the approval process in Parliament.
“We are confident that you will perform creditably at the vetting to merit the President’s choice”, the message said.
