Voting suspended in Jaman North constituency

The presidential and parliamentary elections in the Jaman North constituency in the Brong Ahafo region have been suspended due to an objection raised by the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The candidate Fredrick Ahinkwaa and his agents according to our report raised an objection because he alleged that the materials provided for the election did not tally with that of the party [NDC].

According to him, the police had to hold five separate meetings with the parties over the matter but all proved futile.

Currently the process has been suspended by the security officials because the NDC says it was not ready for the polls until the concerns raised are resolved.
