Voting in Fomena Parliamentary by-election ends

Fomena-Ashanti, Jan. 23, GNA – Voting in the Fomena Constituency Parliamentary by-election ended peacefully at 1700 hours on Tuesday, January 23.

Counting of votes in all the 45 polling stations has begun amidst tight security.

A total of 19,409 registered voters were expected to cast their votes.

Three contestants, Nana Abu Bonsra for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Madam Grace Ampofo, for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Madam Augustina Kyei for the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) are vying for the seat.

Supporters and sympathisers have gathered at the various polling stations waiting patiently for the outcome of the polls. Voters turn out and enthusiasm was generally very high in all the polling stations.
