Voting begins in Buem constituency

Voting started at exactly 0700 hours in all the 84 polling stations across the Buem Constituency without a hitch and most of the stations have no queues.

Mr Mohamed Shani Abukari, Jasikan District Electoral Officer, told the GNA that some of the polling stations had queues.

The bye-election was as a result of the death of the National Democratic Congress member of Parliament for the area, Mr Henry Ford Kamel who was buried last Saturday.

Five candidates are contesting the seat.
