Voters urged to disregard the educational promises of the NPP

Effiduase (E/R), Nov. 4, GNA – Mr. Effah Amaning a member of the NDC in the New Juaben North Constituency, on Sunday urged Ghanaians to disregard the campaign promises of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on education.

He said, instead, they should vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on 7 December for better public education. Mr. Amaning observed that the educational interventions of the NPP have been poorly implemented making public education worse off. He was speaking at a public forum, organized by the New Juaben North Constituency branch of the NDC, at Effiduase near Koforidua, where the party’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Mr Adu Boateng was introduced to the people.

Mr. Amaning said the NDC would ensure that more money was provided for basic education and pupils would be provided with text books, school uniforms, exercise books, pens and pencils. He said under the current free basic school system, many children of school going age were on the streets because their parents could not afford to pay for some school items. Mr. Amaning criticised the government for introducing computer education in basic schools without supplying computers to the institutions.
