Vote for peace and stability – IC Quaye

Accra, Nov. 22, GNA – Sheik I .C Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, has appealed to the electorate to vote for President John Agyekum Kufuor and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to maintain peace and stability.

Addressing an NPP rally in the Dadekotopon Constituency, he said under President Kufuor’s Government, Ghanaians had enjoyed freedom of speech, which was the bedrock of democracy without anyone being picked up in the night for airing his or her views. He said the stabilisation of the cedi had encouraged investors to do business in the country.

The Regional Minister stated that business executives had expressed interest to work in the country as a result of the firm foundation the Government had laid for economic growth.

Mr Robert Oblitei Solomon, Greater Accra NPP Vice Chairman, said the Party was promoting human-centred policies, citing the rising crude oil price, which had not been passed on to the consumer as a result of good economic management.

He urged the electorate to compare the NPP’s four-year stay in office to the National Democratic Congress’ 20-year- rule and said the Government deserved another term of office.

Mr Torto Laryea, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Area, urged the people to vote for President Kufuor and the NPP and denied that when voted to Parliament, he would not continue the market project in the area.
