Vote for honest and hard-working flag bearer -Frimpong-Boateng

Agona Nsaba(C/R), May 22, GNA – Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, NPP Presidential Aspirant has urged polling station executives, council of elders and constituency executives of the party, to vote for a candidate with a science and technology background as flag bearer of the party, to lead party members to victory in the 2010 elections. He said “science and technology is the only panacea that can help to create jobs and wealth for the people of this country, especially the youth”. Prof Frimpong-Boateng made this known when he addressed Polling Station executives, Council of Elders and Constituency Officers of the party, at separate meetings at Agona Nsaba in the Agona East and Gomoa Ankamu in the Gomoa West Constituencies, to solicit their votes to become the flagbearer. He said if this is not done it would be difficult for graduates and other school leavers roaming on the streets to get employment and become self reliant.

Prof Frimpong-Boateng expressed concern that Ghana was still importing matches, blades, teeth pick and others from outside the country in the 21st century.

He said Ghana was encountering problems as a result of lack of science and technology and urged the polling station executives to give him the nod to enable him turn the country round.

Prof Frimpong-Boateng who is also the former Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, assured the party that when elected as the flagbearer and he wins the 2012 elections, Ghanaians will begin to manufacture vehicles and build electric transformers. He said the world was fast changing, citing the fact that although Ghana had independence before Malaysia, Singapore and others, these other countries have made some advancement and growth in their economy as compared to Ghana.

Prof Frimpong-Boateng stressed that his mission for the Party and Ghana was to bring about attitudinal change, for the people to know that it is their responsibility to work harder to develop the country. Prof Frimpong-Boateng asked them to vote for candidate who after elections, would be able to unify the NPP members and also attract floating voters.

He said the NPP cannot use the 2008 campaign messages and therefore needed a candidate who can modernize the party in order to face the National Democratic Congress (NDC) boot to boot in 2012 elections.
