Volunteers from Adventist Midwest offer assistance to Bekwai SDA

Bekwai (Ash), Feb.01, GNA – Volunteers from Adventist Midwest of Chicago and Oklahoma in the United States of America (USA) are assisting in the construction of a girls’ dormitory for the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Senior Secondary School at Bekwai-Asante.

Mr Bill Norman, leader of the 66 volunteers told newsmen at the project site that the building would cost about 55,000 dollars on completion.

He said the project was being undertaken through the efforts of Pastor M.A. Bediako, an old student of the school and Head of SDA Mission Worldwide.

Madam Mercy Tiwaah, Headmistress of the school, commended the volunteers and Pastor Bediako for their kind gesture and said the dormitory help to increase the intake of girls in the school and promote girl-child education.

The volunteers including a medical team had visited and worked with staff of the SDA Hospital at Kwadaso in Kumasi and Bekwai Government Hospital.
