The Volta Youth Network (VYN) learnt with deep shock and regret, the sudden death of
President John Evans Atta Mills on Tuesday. We offer our deepest and sincere
condolences to the first Lady Ernestina Naadu- Mills, the rest of the family
including the National Democratic Congress (NDC) fraternity knowing this has come as
a big blow to them and the nation.
VYN urges all Ghanaians to set aside any personal, political and religious
differences even as we unite to mourn this national tragedy as one strong Ghanaian
family. We urge all Ghanaians to honor the memory of our late President with
prayers and respect.
We wish to also congratulate H.E. John Dramani Mahama for ascending the throne as
President to fill the vacuum left by our late president without a hitch which once
more, demonstrates the depth of our democratic culture. We wish him well in his new
capacity as president and urge all Ghanaians to give him every support and
cooperation as he steers the affairs of our dear nation through to the election in
December 2012.
May President Mills find rest in the Lord our creator!
