Volta Regional Office of GEPC decentralizes operations

Ho, Aug. 25, GNA – The Volta Regional Zonal Office of the Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC) is to create Customer Desk Offices in the Municipal and District Assemblies in the region in a bid to decentralize its operations away from the regional capital Ho.

The initiative was also to encourage people in the region to venture into the export business, Mr Hope Tata Amrado, the Volta Regional Zonal Officer of the GEPC, told the GNA on on Wednesday.

The programme was initiated by the Zonal Office of the GEPC in collaboration with the Regional Co-ordinating Council, GEPC headquarters and the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI).

He said 19 personnel from the Municipal and District Assemblies and 11 potential exporters were therefore being taken through a capacity building programme to enable them acquire the necessary skills in export business.
