Volta Regional Hospital OPD goes electronic

Activities at the Out-Patient-Department of the Volta Regional Hospital went electronic in 2014, with electronic folders replacing manual ones.

This has shortened turn-around time from the OPD through to the Dispensary, Dr John Tampuri, Medical Director, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview.

He said Management of the Hospital is working at constantly improving its systems.

“We are doing our best to come up with systems that could be replicated elsewhere,’ Dr Tampuri said.

He said, management was, however, mindful that their best might not necessarily be in tune with public expectations.

Dr Tampuri said Management would institute regular stakeholders meetings, to share ideas, obtain feed backs, assess performance, and win public co-operation and support.

He observed that criticisms and allegations directed at the Hospital were often not based on facts, and urged the Media to constantly visit the Hospital to see the good things it was doing.
