Volta Region still NDC’s ‘World Bank’ – Fiifi Kwetey

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency in the Volta region, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, says the constituency will traditionally stand as ‘the world bank’ of the ruling NDC.

He said the main opposition NPP cannot succeed in curtailing the merits of the NDC in the region.

The New Patriotic Party’s running mate, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, at a press conference months ago revealed that names of thousands of foreigners have been found on Ghana’s voter register.

Dr Bawumia said an NPP investigative team compared Ghana’s register with that of neighbouring countries, and the results were shocking, which the Party says is the reason for the high voter population in the region especially.

The Ketu South district is a border town in the Volta region and is bounded by Togo to the east.

But Fiifi Kwetey in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM said closing the border during elections won’t do the NPP any good.

The municipality serves as the Eastern Gateway to Ghana where continuous cross-border trading activities occur.
