Volta Region ready for NPP election

Ho, Aug. 6, GNA – All is set in the Volta Region for the election of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) 2012 Presidential candidate fixed for Saturday, August 7.

“We have everything for tomorrow’s elections. All ballot papers and photo albums are set,” Ms Lawrentia Kpatakpa, the Volta Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, told the Ghana News Agency.

She said the materials had been dispatched to all constituencies to ensure that the elections started on time.

Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP, also said the party in the Region was prepared for the elections.

He said the Party held its last consultative and preparatory meeting on Wednesday and had gone through all motions and validations for a successful election.

“Everybody is conversant with the rules of the election so we are very confident and sure of an incident free election.”

He said though there was some tension just like any other election the Party was hopeful of a successful event.

Mr Nuworsu appealed to the delegates and party members to conduct themselves maturely to ensure a successful election.
