Volta Region celebrates Remembrance Day at Ho

Ho, Nov.11, GNA – A wreath laying ceremony took place at the Cenotaph at the forecourt of the Regional Health Administration of the Ghana Health Service at Ho on Friday to mark this year’s remembrance day celebration for those who died during the two World wars. Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, laid a wreath on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, while Lieutenant Colonel William Kotia, the Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment laid the second on behalf of the Ghana Armed forces and other Security Services. Major Phanuel Adzo (Rtd) laid the third on behalf of the Veterans Association of Ghana (VAG) and Togbe Delume V, Vice President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs laid the fourth on behalf of Chiefs. Prayers preceded the wreath laying ceremony for those who died, the nation and the world.

Amidst blaring of the siren, gunshots by the 66 Artillery Regiment, the last post was sounded and the reveille blown after which a one-minute silence was held.

In all 180 officers and men from the Security services including the Ghana Army, Police and Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) under the command of Major David Wunta Wuni of the 66 Artillery Regiment formed the parade.
