The Volta Regional House of Chiefs has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of Ghana in the just-ended elections.
A statement dated December 14th this year and signed by Togbe Afede XIV, President of the House, said the House was looking forward to him for the development of the region.
“We the chiefs and people of the Volta Region and the Volta Regional Development Agency, look forward to working with the President to further strengthen the peace and unity of Ghana and to ensure equitable development,” it stated.
The statement also thanked the people of the Volta Region for the “exemplary manner in which they conducted themselves before, during and after the election of December 7, 2012”.
The House appealed to all Ghanaians to “endeavour to use constitutional means to resolve all outstanding issues in order to protect the peace and tranquility that have been the hallmark of our beloved country.”
