Voices of conscience must speak against NDC’s intimidation of former appointees – Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah

The Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency in the Bono East Region Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has called on Traditional, Religious Leaders, International Community and other voices of conscience to condemn the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) intimidation of appointees of the former New Patriotic Party administration with the recent ‘Rambo Style’ arrests and detentions as it could jeopardize the beautiful democracy the nation is enjoying.

The immediate past Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development believes that, as much as no one is above the law and government appointees must account for their stewardship; the NDC using state security agencies to deliberately arrest and detain Akuffo-Addo appointees without following due processes or properly prosecuting suspects in the law court is not acceptable and must be condemned by all.

He said he would condemn these same activities if his party, the NPP comes to power in the near future and decides to ‘witch-hunt’ appointees in the President Mahama led NDC government by breaching their fundamental human rights because it is very dangerous and if this continues, it has the tendency of breaching the peace and harmony we enjoy as a country.

The Techiman South MP used the opportunity to caution current appointees of the NDC administration who are heading security agencies, investigative bodies and the law courts being used to intimidate former appointees to be very careful because power is transient and if powers are abused today, karma could catch up in the near future, he said in an interview

However, he urged the NDC administration not to jubilate over the recent stability of the Cedi appreciation as sustainability is not promised due to its causes universally or artificial and could overturn.
