Voice on the tape is that of Sammy Awuku – Kobby Acheampong

Former Deputy Interior Minister, Kobby Acheampong, has backed calls for investigations into the leaked tape purportedly containing the voice of Sammy Awuku.

The NPP Deputy Communications Director was allegedly caught on tape, pouring his heart out during a meeting with some members of the party branch in the United Kingdom.

He was quoted to have said to the party folks that he was cocksure the petitioners would emerge victors in the pending election case and also expressed that the Judges, with the exception of Justice William Atuguba, are all behind the petitioners.

The former Deputy Interior Minister, speaking on the subject in an interview with Radio Gold, described as ‘dangerous’ the comments purported to have been made by Sammy Awuku via the leaked tape.

To him, the integrity of the Supreme Court Judges should be protected, hence the need for the tape “to be investigated to see whether Awuku made those statements about a particular Justice of the Supreme Court.”

He, however, expressed no doubt that the tape indeed contains the voice of Sammy Awuku.
