Vocational trainees get support

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Kwabena Owusu-Aduomi, has presented 85 hair driers to beautician trainees in some communities in the constituency.

The driers were funded through his share of the District Assembly’s Common Fund, and were to assist the beneficiaries to become economically viable and financially independent.

While 15 of the hair driers went to beauticians at Asotwe, beauticians at Akyawkrom, Manhyia, Adadietem, Boankra, Ampabame and Hwereso received 11, seven, four, five, six and five pieces respectively as part of the second tranche distribution.

Presenting the machines over the weekend, the MP noted that skill training was the best form of empowerment to people without employable skills.

According to him, the support would wean the beneficiaries from the dried-up breast milk of their mothers and make them self-reliant.

Felicia Amankwa of Boankra community, on behalf of her colleagues, expressed appreciation to the MP for the humanitarian gesture.

She pledged their commitment to put the driers to good use for benefit of their various communities to improve the local economy.
