Vital documents belonging to NHIS consumed in fire at Techiman

Documents belonging to the Techiman North National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) were on Saturday morning reduced to ashes after fire gutted a metal container used by the scheme as a store.

The cause of the fire according to fire fighters is not immediately known but mynewsgh.com gathered that vital documents belonging to the scheme have been destroyed.

Some residents are already suspecting arson and trying to draw conclusions in view of the fact that the Scheme Manager is the brother of the former Deputy Education Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman North, Alexander Kyeremeh.

Residents who earlier battled the inferno with a fire tender of the Ghana Nuts Ltd (a private firm) managed to put the situation under control as the only available fire tender for the Ghana National fire service was attending to another accident on the Techiman Nkoranza road.

Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has since commenced investigations into the matter to unravel the main cause behind the fire.
