Visiting American Engineer Repairs 2 Boreholes In The Northern Region

Duu (N/R), Aug 26, – A visiting American engineer, Mr David Linds, has repaired two boreholes sunk in 1988 by World Vision International (WVI) for the Duu and Kpasenkpre communities in west Mamprusi district of the Northern region. Mr Linds, who is visiting his children, Miss Lori Werdin and Mr David Werdin, both peace corps volunteers serving in the district, trained four artisans to undertake regular maintenance of the five boreholes in their areas. Miss Werdin thanked the Community Water and Sanitation Division (CWSB) of the Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation (GWSC) in Tamale for releasing tools for the exercise during which pumps were fitted to the boreholes. The Duu-Naba, Mr Baani Danwah, thanked Mr Linds for repairing the boreholes within three days after having been out of use for several years.
