Visa contractor remanded in custody

Tema, Aug. 19, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’, has remanded into custody a visa contractor for allegedly issuing a fake US visa to a client.

Justice Mawusi pleaded not guilty to the charges of false pretence and securing a false American visa and will reappear on August 31. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi, told the Court, presided over by Mr Stephen Teye, that on February 17, 2003, the complainant approached the accused for the travelling document. Justice subsequently charged the complainant 5,500 dollars and promised to get him the visa in two weeks.

Chief Inspector Gyamfi said the accused refunded only 2,300 dollars when he was unable to fulfil his promise. 19 Aug. 04
