Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was reportedly taken to hospital in Munich after collapsing at the club’s training ground on Friday, October 23.
German outlets Bild and Sky reported that an emergency doctor attended the incident. A helicopter was also said to have landed earlier at Bayern’s training facility on Sabener Straße.
Bayern Munich have not yet confirmed the reports and have not released information about what happened.
The 40-year-old Belgian has been suffering from a viral infection in recent days. As a result, he missed Bayern’s final training session and pre-match news conference before their UEFA Champions League meeting with Arsenal.
Kompany was back on the touchline for Wednesday’s match at the Allianz Arena, where Bayern drew 2-2 with the English club.
Bayern are due to play SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday, although it is not known whether the reported hospitalisation will affect Kompany’s availability for that fixture.
No further details have emerged about his condition or the circumstances of the reported incident.
